A vault is a storage room with no way in except by respawning into it.

Drop box: 40 scrap at the Outpost and cheap to replace, but the vault is easy to spot.

Large box through a wall: cheapest, but easy to spot and cannot be replaced if broken.

Barbecue through the wall with a tier 3 workbench in front: much harder to find. Upgrade the wall to HQM so splash does not break it.

Vaults can be any shape. Try inside honeycombs, inside bunkers or between floors, with another floor above.
