Building is tier based: Twig, Wood, Stone, Metal and Armored, each with the same 20 shapes. Higher tiers cost more and take much more to break.

Always place a tool cupboard first. Without it, decay eats your base.

Decay and upkeep are real costs. A stone wall has 500 HP, costs 300 stones to build, and needs 30-100 stones per day to maintain. Its decay time is 5 hours.

Upgrade in layers. Twig for planning, wood for the first night, stone as soon as you can afford it.

Keep a spare door and a spare code. A base is only as strong as its weakest entrance.
