Since the May 2026 patch a workbench has slots for augments. They cannot be crafted, researched or bought from vendors. You find them in crates or in player shops. You need building privilege and must face the workbench: hold E, open the radial menu and pick Open. Each type fits once, and adding or removing one does no damage.

AUGMENT EFFECT FOUND IN

Accelerated Each extra item in a crafted stack is 25% faster, capped at 75% Elite crate

Comfort Players in reach get 100% comfort Large brown crate

Defensive Armor-slot items get 1 slot by default Large brown crate

Efficiency 10% chance per stacked craft to make an extra item (not rockets or timed charges) Green military crate

Prototype Learn any tech tree item directly for 2x the research scrap. 25% chance to fail and lose the scrap Green military crate

Range Doubles the workbench aura range Large brown crate

Recycle Bin Chance to refund 10% of ingredients on each craft Large brown crate

Reinforced +150% workbench HP (tier 3: 750 to 1,875) and half explosive damage Green military crate
